Background
Government
wolrdwide are tighning the rules for pollution.
Thousands
of tons of e.g. used crankcase oils, that previously only needed fairly
simple cleaning before sale or use - now has much more stringent contaminantt
rules - and these are costly processes.
Cause
of problem
Gear
drives are known to produce a substantial amount of metal contaminants
as the gears, bearings, shafts and other components wear. This metal
works its way into the gear system lubricating oil and substantially
accelerates the component wear rate, thus requiring regular lubrication
oil changes.
